HAPPY BIRTHDAY TITUS!!!

Monday, November 4, 2013

My sweet little boy turned 4 today, not Chrispy, my Titus :) He was my first baby, the first real decision my hubby and I made together as a married couple, and my best friend for a long time while my hubs worked and traveled. So, in honor of my first baby, I had to make a dog friendly peanut butter and bacon cake.

He couldn't take his eyes off of the cake, as if he knew it was for him.

This is Titus's "Blue Steel" pose, he has perfected it over the years.

Now, he wouldn't be a good big brother if he didn't share with his little brother, Apollo. Watch how they coordinate their licks, Apollo in the picture…

Now Titus licks and Apollo stares.

 Giving Daddy the "eyes"

I love Titus's look in this picture, he is doing like a side and eyes up pose….too cute.

Taking turns having to give their paws before they can eat.

They finally can have birthday cake. I seriously love these boys. I would give them anything to make their lives better. Though having pets is a big responsibility, it pays in unlimited amounts of love…and it has made me a better person.

How much do you love your pets? Happy Birthday to my sweet baby Titus. You have always been my pillow when my head can't handle anymore :)

P.S. This cake was completely dog friendly and made with peanut butter, honey, coconut oil, flour, eggs, baking soda, and turkey bacon ;)

Weekend Recap

Sunday, November 3, 2013

Holy Weekend!!! So this weekend was packed with lots of shopping, eating, girl time, and cleaning. I went with my dear friend Deborah and her new baby boy, Asher, to Ikea on Saturday. So weekends in Japan are just crazy. Normally any store is so packed with people that you would think you were at Disney World on a holiday…no joke. Ikea is about 2 hours away from where we live so we loaded up the car and drove off, with only one baby in tow….which made things a lot easier!! It was the first time I've really ever been away from Chrispy the whole day, and it was so hard. At one point I kept saying how I was a bad mom for not being home with him, even though I'm with him everyday.

So after back-to-back traffic for like EVER!!! We finally made it, and we were starving. First stop, change the baby, feed him, and go eat at some Ikea Swedish meatballs. We managed to do all of that in about 45 minutes, which is fast considering there was extremely long lines for food, finding a place to sit and eat, and make sure a little man was happy too. We got down to the marketplace and I found myself in heaven once again with all the amazing NEW Ikea stuff. I wanted to throw everything in my cart. I almost did too, but self control and limited space at home kept me at bay. That of course doesn't mean I held back either ;)

That is both Deborah and my stuff. As you can see, there is also a second cart that would have been loaded with some actual furniture that I wanted to buy, but they were out of stock….made me so upset. Guess that means another trip will have to take place ;)

I also fell head over heels for this black velvet couch.

The sticker price was perfect, only $700! But this couch of course would never work in my house, why you ask? Because I have two Siberian huskies that shed like all day long…everyday, a son who thinks the couch is a coffee table right now, and a hubby….that is sometimes worse than the son. Poor me :( So I had to say goodbye to this beauty and dream for a day I can have a place to put a beau like this…maybe in a gray velvet.

After checking out, which is a shit show if I ever saw one, we finally were done shopping….at least at Ikea. We headed off to the car to load up and get out so we could go to this great mall down the street that had a Old Navy, Forever 21, H&M, and a Auntie Anne's. I was in heaven!!!!!

Can you tell we are the Americans parked here? In Japan, everyone parks front out….not us :)

After hours of shopping, stuffing our faces with food we don't normally get our hands on, I was done. We got home, after hours of more back-to-back traffic and a private singing session in the car, at around 9:30, at night!!! Oops! At least it was a full day of fun.

On top of a great weekend, I also happened to get a little package of happiness in the mail!!

This little gem is perfect. It is delicate, rose gold, and has my hubby and my initials on it. It is a great layering necklace! Now I need to get one with my son's initials….just can't decide what kind of necklace I want. Cute ideas anyone?

Now I leave you with a few pictures I found the other day on my roll on the camera. Seriously, I have issues and completely forgot I took these pictures. It was right before I left the house to go see the Backstreet Boys in concert.

I was some kind of excited….the last picture is a face I make way too much in photos!

Have a good day Y'all!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Friday, November 1, 2013

Happy Halloween everyone!!! I hope everyone managed to snag some awesome piles of candy on your, your kids ;), Trick-or-Treating workout! Chrispy managed to pull in a large load that my hubby and I will be sure to enjoy…and of course share with Chrispy.

We decided since we call our son Chrispy that the only thing we really could be is a Krispy Kreme Family….Chrispy being the donut of course! :)

Doesn't he make the cutest donut ever?

Seriously, I could have sucked the skin right off this kid from kissing on him all night!

I was actually kind of shocked how willing my hubby was to put on an apron and be a Krispy Kreme maker, but let's face it, probably one of the best jobs ever…image, sitting around eating the most delicious hot and fresh donuts all day!!! Yummo! I my next life I will be a food tester and never get fat from anything….or is that supposed to be heaven? :)

We had a lot of stops along the way so Chrispy could get a break from walking and so Mommy and Daddy could get some "Adult Beverages" along the way that were passed out to us. Trick-or-Treating is not so bad when your an adult ;)

Note to self…hubby is horrible with the camera…always ask a random stranger from now on to take our pictures.

At this point Chrispy had his first taste of M&Ms and he liked it so much it gave him a case of the giggles :)

Pit stop!!! I got a lot of pictures of Chrispy "low crawling" across the road….his poor little legs were wearing thin. I WANT TO BITE HIS BUTT!

In all, we had a pretty good Halloween and can't wait to do it again…already trying to figure out what we will be next year. We ended the night putting Chrispy to bed, he was worn out from all the walking and heavy lifting from his basket full of candy. Mommy and Daddy got to hang out with some neighbors drinking beer and snuggling around a fire pit in the crisp weather. It really was a great time. What did y'all dress up as?

Happy Halloween!!! Now on to turkey day….sooooo hungry already ;)

Worst Day Ever!!!

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

So I thought today was going to be like any other and I would manage not to have a total "Mommy-Melt-Down" in the middle of my living....but I did. I thought it was actually going to be an amazing day since Chrispy had let me sleep until 9:20 am, I even had to wake him. Everything was going good, breakfast was cooked, coffee was made, and I was able to even check my emails without complaint from my pint size human child. By lunch time, the hubby had come home which gave me enough time to go run a few errands and grab some lunch for myself. I was walking up the path to my house when I heard it, screams of terror coming out of my child's mouth….I almost turned the other direction back to the car just to avoid the noise. As I pulled up my big girl panties and took a deep breath….I walked into a big shit storm!!! Christian had lost his mind.

My poor hubby was saying that since I had left, Chrispy went off his rocker and started pitching a fit…screaming, crying, and even hitting my husband. Separation…..wow! For the rest of the day, even with Mommy reclaimed in the household, he cried all day. I checked for everything under the moon to see what was "wrong" with my baby. Turns out, it was just going to be the worst day ever. I tried putting him down for his nap but after about an hour of "crying it out" I couldn't take it anymore. At that point, everything went downhill, I couldn't get anything really done and even holding him did not quiet him down. I wanted to just cry.

Just a snapshot of the day…..

I was lucky enough to have a dear friend and her daughter and son show up to hang out and watch a movie. Her daughter actually managed to entertain Chrispy long enough for me to get a few things done and even bake some cupcakes, just because it was that kind of day. Three cupcakes later, I felt so much better, even with my devil child running around.

By the time my hubby had come home from work, I was finished. I wasn't even hungry for the dinner that I had just made for them. All I wanted to do is retreat to the car for a little joyride just to get out of the hell I had been in all day. After an hour of driving around and stopping for some milk, I came home. Chrispy had already had dinner, a bath, and was ready for bed. Thank God of Hubby's!!!

I was so tired from the day and that I ended up not going to work out at all. Instead, I laid on the couch and drank a glass of wine. Went to bed early too…needed the sleep.

On a side note, we don't have these kind of days normally, and so, it was well overdue I guess. I just am thankful I had my hubby and friend to help me break up the time in-between the crying. It really does take a village to raise a child and I have learned over these past 15 months that I should always take help from those who offer when it comes to Chrispy. Being a Mommy is the hardest job I have ever done but it is also the most rewarding. And even on days like today when I can't take another minute of crying….I still love him so much. I always just try to remember "this too shall pass" and to never judge another mommy if she is falling short one day, we all have those days!

Now I leave you with pictures from the Halloween party that I went to and than managed to become WORST MOMMY OF THE YARD AWARD. I went as a Corpus Bride and my hubby, being last minute like he is, was just some goth kid…..boring. Brooke, the hostess of the party, made the most amazing setting for the Halloween decor and theme.

The beer pong room and Fate game were for sure my downfall of the events that later happened that evening….or a weakness to delicious festive beverages and dare games.

Happy Wednesday Y'all!
