Worst Day Ever!!!

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

So I thought today was going to be like any other and I would manage not to have a total "Mommy-Melt-Down" in the middle of my living....but I did. I thought it was actually going to be an amazing day since Chrispy had let me sleep until 9:20 am, I even had to wake him. Everything was going good, breakfast was cooked, coffee was made, and I was able to even check my emails without complaint from my pint size human child. By lunch time, the hubby had come home which gave me enough time to go run a few errands and grab some lunch for myself. I was walking up the path to my house when I heard it, screams of terror coming out of my child's mouth….I almost turned the other direction back to the car just to avoid the noise. As I pulled up my big girl panties and took a deep breath….I walked into a big shit storm!!! Christian had lost his mind.

My poor hubby was saying that since I had left, Chrispy went off his rocker and started pitching a fit…screaming, crying, and even hitting my husband. Separation…..wow! For the rest of the day, even with Mommy reclaimed in the household, he cried all day. I checked for everything under the moon to see what was "wrong" with my baby. Turns out, it was just going to be the worst day ever. I tried putting him down for his nap but after about an hour of "crying it out" I couldn't take it anymore. At that point, everything went downhill, I couldn't get anything really done and even holding him did not quiet him down. I wanted to just cry.

Just a snapshot of the day…..

I was lucky enough to have a dear friend and her daughter and son show up to hang out and watch a movie. Her daughter actually managed to entertain Chrispy long enough for me to get a few things done and even bake some cupcakes, just because it was that kind of day. Three cupcakes later, I felt so much better, even with my devil child running around.

By the time my hubby had come home from work, I was finished. I wasn't even hungry for the dinner that I had just made for them. All I wanted to do is retreat to the car for a little joyride just to get out of the hell I had been in all day. After an hour of driving around and stopping for some milk, I came home. Chrispy had already had dinner, a bath, and was ready for bed. Thank God of Hubby's!!!

I was so tired from the day and that I ended up not going to work out at all. Instead, I laid on the couch and drank a glass of wine. Went to bed early too…needed the sleep.

On a side note, we don't have these kind of days normally, and so, it was well overdue I guess. I just am thankful I had my hubby and friend to help me break up the time in-between the crying. It really does take a village to raise a child and I have learned over these past 15 months that I should always take help from those who offer when it comes to Chrispy. Being a Mommy is the hardest job I have ever done but it is also the most rewarding. And even on days like today when I can't take another minute of crying….I still love him so much. I always just try to remember "this too shall pass" and to never judge another mommy if she is falling short one day, we all have those days!

Now I leave you with pictures from the Halloween party that I went to and than managed to become WORST MOMMY OF THE YARD AWARD. I went as a Corpus Bride and my hubby, being last minute like he is, was just some goth kid…..boring. Brooke, the hostess of the party, made the most amazing setting for the Halloween decor and theme.

The beer pong room and Fate game were for sure my downfall of the events that later happened that evening….or a weakness to delicious festive beverages and dare games.

Happy Wednesday Y'all!

Weekend Recap

Sunday, October 27, 2013

This weekend was filled with lots of at home projects, cleaning, and drinking. Saturday, the family and I were stuck inside most of the day because of a stupid rain storm. We ended up going to our local BX to try and get Chrispy to run off some steam and look for some Halloween costume stuff for the hubs. Unfortunately this year our store didn't get too many good Halloween costumes so we were stuck just picking him up a black shirt and some "skater/goth" looking stuff for his costume....boring!

Later that night we finally got out of the house....and since we had a sitter, we decided we both needed to blow off some steam and drank to our hearts content. PICTURES TO COME! When you live on a military installation you have this amazing program called 225-RIDE that will have people come pick you up and take you home, free of charge, just so you don't try to drive after drinking....AMAZING!!! But I should have warned them when we got in the car that I get motion sickness when sitting in the back seat....luckily I made it home before I got sick all over my front yard....yep, shameless :( I also than proceeded to beg my hubby not to move me from the grass....yep, pathetic!

Needless say, because of all the awesome "reliving our youth" drinking and staying out way past our bedtime, we spent all Sunday pretty much on the couch, recovering! Good Lawrd! I thought I was going to die when I heard my son waking up this morning....the thought of having to stand up made me want to be sick....I will never do Jello shots again!

I was a little productive today and managed to finish a wood sign that I have been meaning to do forever now. Pictures and tutorial to come.

I also managed to finally finish my mint pedestal table that was so neglected. I used homemade chalk paint....my new favorite thing ever!!! Projects don't go as fast as they used to, before I had Chrispy. Now, half my projects are done at night, during nap times, or when the hub is home. I try not to let it bother me and to always have a goal to finish it by a certain time period which keeps me from being overwhelmed by a large project.

I just love her, so dainty and pretty and I love that the old white paint and wood finish pop through with the light distressing I did. She will actually end up as my outside table with maybe some wicker chairs. I have had my eye on these Agen Chair or Holmsel Chair.

Making homemade chalk paint is so easy! Simply choose the paint color and finish you want on your piece. Mix a powdered water putty with water, the consistency should be like pancake batter. Once all powder has dissolved, add paint and mix until there are no longer bubbles. If you wish the paint to be of a thicker consistency, let it sit for about 5 minutes and it will thicken. The great part of chalk paint, there is no real prep, no sanding.....yay!!! I love my new table. Not sure I want to keep these chairs to go with it but they will do for now.

After just a few simple tasks today, I'm worn out. The best part is when my hubby and I had to do the "drive of shame" and go pick our car tonight, baby in toe, strapped in his carseat....Parents of the Year?!  And because everything made me feel queazy today, it was a tomato soup kind of night for us. At least Chrispy was still happy with us. Managed to even make him some Mac and Cheese as an apology for having such stupid parents.

Have a Great Day Y'all!

Day 5 of the GM Diet/Cleanse

Thursday, October 24, 2013

I decided to stray away from the GM cleanse, oh well, but still incorporating it in my food choices today. For breakfast I had egg whites, fat free cheddar cheese, and chicken apple sausage with a cup of coffee that had pumpkin spice creamer and sugar in the raw. The total calories for my breakfast was only 185! Amazing! I did the same thing for lunch since it was soooo good! Tonight I'm making lasagna, the first time for Chrispy, and hoping it will come out great since it's been so long since I've made it.

It's raining of course today so my weekend plans have pretty much been ruined, but I am looking forward to an Adult Halloween Costume party at my friends house this weekend! Super fun!! Can't wait to see what everyone will be dressed up as.

I also managed to make some Mr. and Mrs. mugs this morning, something I've been wanting to do forever now! It is harder than it looks because of the roundness of the cups.

I also love my new light candle fixture....still don't know where to put it, but it's really perfect for the Fall/Winter hoildays!

All I used was a Porcelain Pen and followed the directions for baking it in the oven. I love them!!! All it cost me was the pen and I already had the cups, I think they were like $3 a piece!!! Major Score!!!

I also managed to drop by a local thrift store and got the most amazing things ever!!!

Yep, I came across this box that obviously spoke to me with the label Barneys New York!!! Really?!!! Brand new creamer and sugar bowls....love them! They are a little too nice for our everyday use so they will make a great display once I find the hutch I'm looking for. Best part, only $4!!!

I also found this little guy...

He needs a lot of TLC! Thinking of painting him like a dove gray and reupholstering in a cream colored canvas....still thinking about it. Any suggestions?

Hopefully every one's weekend will be wonderful and with better weather than us!!

Happy Friday Y'all!

Day 4 of the GM Diet/Cleanse

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

So today I decided I just couldn't do all bananas with milk and wonder soup...go figure. I just can't live without a good source of protein while working out. Last night I added some leftover shredded beef to my salad of nothing but veggies and a light spicy mustard dressing that had pretty much no calories. It was delicious and filling and when I went for my run last night I felt like I had energy and wasn't feeling light headed like the past few days. So basically, I'm skipping over day 4 and going straight to days 5-7 where I eat tons of protein and veggies....smartest choice ever. I still have lost 5 lbs. total since starting this cleanse, even with the variation in the diet meal plan, I feel great. The idea I think behind this is to just cut out the crap and get back to the basics of eating. Meat, fruit, veggies, and water....nothing processed or filled with butter and oil. I get it!

On other news, the day has turned out to be a crap storm with rain coming and gray skies, but no real wind yet so maybe we have lucked out, for once, and the Typhoon will pass us by. One can only hope.   Rain seriously puts a damper on my weekend plans and no one likes a toddler that has been cooped up in the house because of rain. We even make trips to a store so Chrispy can run up and down the aisles to burn off that crazy energy he has.

For example, I met with my hubby and friend Deborah for lunch yesterday at Chili's. Poor guy had too much energy from being stuck in the house all morning, so my hubby took him outside to play in the grass and rocks before we ate, (Father of the Year). I got some great pictures of this little guy just playing with the rocks and pressing his face up to the glass....seriously, how cute is he?! Could.eat.him.alive! :) Of course, as soon as I put the camera down, Chrispy goes running towards oncoming traffic....great, how do I break him of that little habit?

Later that day the cutest card probably ever made came in the mail.

It is just adorable!!! Love all the packaging too! Yes, I'm one of those girls that will buy something just because it is packaged so darn cute...but seriously, love this print! And since I wasn't going to be sending this baby off to nobody, MINE!, I decided to pop it into this cute Ikea frame and make my television stand even more festive! I LOVE PRINT ART!!! Such a easy and inexpensive way to decorate. Looking for some really cute prints for Chripy's bathroom....something maybe in navy and white.

Is everyone ready for Halloween, because I'm not for sure! I still have to find green aprons to complete our family look and a babysitter for a Adult Halloween party I'm supposed to be going to this weekend.....babysitters, seriously, I need one just to live with me!

Happy Thursday Y'all!

DAY 3 OF THE GM DIET/CLEANSE

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

This is becoming harder than I thought. Last night in a moment of weakness, after doing some reps at the gym, I was starving. Obvious only eating veggies yesterday wasn't enough calories to have when still working out. I wanted to baked chip so bad that I literally was smelling the bag...yep, total desperation! The weird part is, I'm not overweight by any means and have always maintained a clean and healthy diet while also allowing myself to indulge at least once a week. I feel that everything is okay in moderation as long as you make good choices most of the time and continue to have activities that help burn calories.

I weighted myself this morning and down 4 pounds from day 1 to day 3 today. Where it has gone from, I still have no clue. I do know that today is going to be a challenge since it's just veggies and fruit again. I can make my Wonder Soup today and start eating it in unlimited quantities. Tomorrow is going to be awful! Nothing but bananas, milk, and Wonder Soup, ummm....yuck! I am one of those people that have to finish things I start but I don't know about this. Considering jumping straight to day 5 and 6 but who knows.

So, I just thought I should take a picture of myself. Please excuse my freckles....my stomach is like a Tic-Tac-Toe board! I had my belly button pierced when I was like 14 and took it out for my pregnancy and have not put it back in if your wondering what that hole is.

To me, nothing looks different. I have continued to work out the whole time and maintained my ab workout. Like I said before, this is just a cleanse and I will have to admit, I do feel lighter but that is because I'm not digesting tons of protein like normal.

DAY 2 OF THE GM DIET/CLEANSE

Monday, October 21, 2013

Day 2 of the GM Diet/Cleanse is going much better than Day 1 for sure. I woke up kinda sweaty, to be expected, and excited knowing I could eat a baked potato for breakfast. Today is all veggies and water again. You are allowed black coffee so I had a big cup of black joe this morning. I am normally a cream and sugar girl so this was pretty hard for me, but I needed it and I knew I could have it so down it went. Instead of a baked potato this morning I had a sweet potato. I have to have toppings on a baked potato to enjoy it so I switched for something that I could enjoy without toppings, a sweet potato. Yummy! I never thought I would be so excited to eat in my life!!! Lunch consisted of broccoli with garlic and onion. Later I'll probably snack on some baby carrots, and for dinner I want to do steamed carrots, brussels sprouts, and maybe more broccoli. I'm so looking forward to Day 4 when I can start eating the Wonder Soup in unlimited quantities!

I managed to weigh myself today and I have lost about 3 lbs. from day 1 to day 2. This once again is just a cleanse for me, and yes, losing a few extra pounds is great, but when the cleanse is over, I plan to returning to a regular "clean" eating habit that I had before. I even plan to order a large pizza the day after and eat all of it!!! Well, maybe just half ;)

On other news, Japan looks like they might be getting another Typhoon which totally makes the days long and glumly for Chrispy and I, well, more I, since he naps most of the day. I will officially be sporting my Hunter rain boots probably for the rest of the week. And after living overseas for so long now, I knew I needed a good pair of rain boots for all the rainy seasons, so these were the best pair for me.

I obviously use these a lot! I love getting new things in the mail and today was no exception! Received this pair of beautiful leggings from DreamElephant for Mr. Chrispy today and couldn't wait to get them on him! And he was so kind to model them for me too!

Mommy got something too of course. I ordered this necklace from Anthropologie! I love her!

Similar Necklace Beaded Tonala Bib

Really, what girl doesn't love a new piece of jewelry? I am also on the hunt now for a new duvet cover and have been totally eyeballing this one from West Elm and could totally see it on my big bed! I just have to wait for it to go on sale because when I say I have a big bed, I mean I have a king size and that means we spend a lot more money on sheets....sucks!

Tomorrow I will post on my progress with the GM diet/cleanse...maybe even post a body shot. I can't wait to sink my teeth into a burger!

Happy Tuesday Y'all!

Day 1 of the GM Diet/Cleanse

Sunday, October 20, 2013

So, way before I got married and had a baby, I used to do a cleanse about every six months. Something about ridding my body of toxins and starting fresh always felt good. Well, your not supposed to cleanse while  being pregnant, and of course while nursing. Since I nursed my son for the first year of his life, I wasn't able to do a cleanse for almost two years. I decided I wanted to try out the GM Diet just because I had a few friends that actually used it. So day one is nothing but fruit....but as much as I want. So I can say that I'm feeling hungry for sure but with tons of water and unlimited amount of fruit going into my mouth, it's not too bad. Probably just going to be the hardest day since the first day is always the hardest.

This is what a snack looks like right now.....

I know...it's sad :( I'm normally a very clean eater and stay far away from fatty foods, but like I said, this is just cleanse for me. Later tonight I decided I was going to make a shake out of my fruits with just fruit and ice....should fill me up nice with a ton of water I am supposed to consume.

Tomorrow is nothing but veggies which I'm actually looking forward to since I can add salt, pepper, and spices. and I just happen of love veggies. They are very filling for me. I also get to eat a baked potato for breakfast but I decided to do a sweet potato instead since I prefer them and they have less calories. I also can put some butter on it...watch out...living large!

So, while my hunger is very obvious by the sounds my tummy is making I've been trying to keep busy. Going through draws and cleaning out junk. Needed to happen anyways since we are about to move again in December, not sure where yet, and I always try to do a good cleaning of all of our items so we aren't moving junk.

I also reupholstered a chair today. It needed a fabric update and it just felt like the time to do it. If you have never reupholstered a chair before, it's really easy if it's just a cushion you are working with.

Step 1: Take a picture of the before for your blog ;) Unscrew the cushion and remove fabric and staples.

Love this new fabric!!!

Step 2: Cut fabric to fit the cushion with enough excess to pull back for a proper fitting. I usually begin stapling on opposite sides and pull tight as I go. I will staple the other sides next and do corners last.

Step 3: Admire your work and make sure the fabric is "placed" where you like it.

Step 4: Screw your cushion back to your chair frame...easy peasy! A whole new look with just fabric!

As you can tell, I'm doing just about anything to keep my mind off of food and the fact that I still have to prepare meals for my family while I'm doing this! Tonight they are having spaghetti and I'm having a fruit smoothie and maybe a can of pineapples if I want to get crazy! :(

Happy Monday Y'all!

Just Another Saturday

Friday, October 18, 2013

Saturdays are usually the days I do some really good deep cleaning in the bathroom's, finishing up some laundry, and completing any "incomplete" projects I have going on. Today was no different, and when the hubby is home to watch over Chrispy things usually go much faster.

Bought this cute little M metal letter at this great store here in Japan called The Globe. It is actually located in another store called Joyful Honda. OH....Joyful Honda, it's like Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Lowe's, Home Depot, and Pet Co had a baby and it was named Joyful Honda. I will miss this place like no other....I've gotten so many of my crafting needs from this remarkable store....oh, and they have an attached grocery store :)

Isn't it cute?! Looks just like the one's from Anthropologie that I just love! But unfortunately they are expensive and I also have to pay for shipping so that just jacks the price up so high that I've waited forever to have one. This guy only cost me about $13 and I could take it home that day. Seriously, this is the only real aggravation I have living in another country, shipping and that I can't actually try it on.  Plus missing Chick-Ful-A....seriously need a chicken sandwich like three years ago!

I also finished my friend Deborah's bar chart. It was originally picked up on the side of the road I think and sat out on her front porch forever!!!! One day I just couldn't take it anymore and demanded that I take it home and spray paint it so it at least looked pretty.  Seriously, if I die young, my famous last words are going to be "I'm just being real" and "Can I spray paint that for you?". She was all about it and even picked up the perfect color for this bad boy....turquoise!!!

I even added caster's to it that Deborah happened to have on hand. Made it easy when I rolled it down the street to her house because she was napping with her sweet new baby Asher. Plan to have many Bloody Mary's mixed on this table ;)

Speaking of sweet new babies, my sister Ashley is pregnant with her first baby, a girl!!! OMG! Finally going to have to start buying girl stuff :) I decided that some of my gift's to her were going to be hand made, starting with a wood sign for her nursery. Marlie Jean will be sure to love it many years down the road.

All I had to do is buy a piece of wood, paint it, sand it with an electric sander for distressing, and than hand drew her name with a paint marker. I finished it with furniture wax to seal it. Can't wait to meet her :)

Have a happy Weekend y'all! I plan to spend mine with the family, eating yummy food and drinking seasonal beer! Cheers! :)
